As a spine surgeon with Citrus Spine Institute in Crystal River, Florida, Dr. Constantine Toumbis provides specialized expertise in lumbar, thoracic, and cervical procedures. He draws on more than 20 years of experience in his field, having entered orthopaedic surgery as a resident with the University of Florida in 1999. Dr. Constantine Toumbis then went on to a spine surgery fellowship with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation's Florida Spine Institute.
Dr. Constantine Toumbis joined the surgical staff at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida, in 2005, and he remains in this role through to the present day. He also serves on the staff at the nearby Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center, where he has led as chief-elect of the hospital's department of surgery. Highly regarded by peers and patients, Dr. Toumbis has earned Top Doctor honors by Castle Connolly Medical as well as US News and World Report and the International Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Toumbis has also played a key role in Citrus Memorial Hospital's receipt of numerous Healthgrades Awards, including the Spine Surgery Excellence Award and the Five Star Recipient for Spinal Fusion Surgery Award. Over the course of his tenure, the hospital has received each award on no less than eight separate occasions. He is also involved in the designing of spinal implants for use in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery.
